Description
An element is heated to a certain temperature in order to conduct a glow wire test. The glow wire is the term used to describe the heated element. The element is fixed in place, and tissue paper is placed exactly beneath the sample. Once the element reaches the desired temperature, it is pressed into a sample material for 30 seconds with a fixed force of 1N. Recordings are kept in case the substance ignites, noting the duration, flame height, and whether any material drips cause the tissue paper to fire.
